Two Days Visit To Machhal

Chairman of “Save Youth Save Future”, Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat on Tuesday 13 attended a Mela At Mechil Sector of District Kupwara. The event was marked by the eye-catching performance of locals, who despite the unavailability of modern entertainment and facilities, have unflinching talent.

Wajahat Farooq Bhat was pleased and impressed by the performances and further discussed plans and strategies to give a platform to these remote artists.
After the mega event, Team SYSF along with the Chairman and a Local Guide went on a detailed visit to the residential area of Machil. Mr. Wajahat met and interacted with many people, students, teachers, unemployed youth, elderly people, women, small children and technology deprived youth. The locals shared their grievances and problems. The area has been deprived of electricity, the poles have been installed two times and both the times Govt. has failed the people in providing electricity. The people

of Machil have been using wood, Lanterns and other natural items to light homes in the world of electric bulbs.
The youth, particularly students cannot continue the online education, not because of low internet connectivity but because of No-Internet and No-Service. Mobile Network coverage is so rear that you have to climb a tower or a huge tree.
The main source of their income is employment by Indian Army who give a job to a person per house. Other forms of employment haven’t been seen.
Many locals thanked Indian Army and added that its only because of Indian Army that they are surviving. Hadn’t the Army been their they wouldn’t survive a single season of winter. As the area is covered with snow for about 6 months. The medical sector is so weak and forsaken that few cows were spotted in the Hospitals. But in case of extreme medical emergency during winter when the roads are closed for a long time, India Army provides their best support to ensure that the patient reach hospital.

Students and Scholars are finding it hard to continue their education and they claim thats it better off to wander in woods behind a goat than continue their education.
The condition of the area are worse, it can’t be summed up in a single essay.
Mr Wajahat Farooq Baht further appeals the Honourable LG. Kashmir, Shiri Manooj Sinha and other concerned authorities to visit the area and solve the concern of the residents of forsaken Machil.
